Hindrances to revealing yourself to your spouse:

4. Laziness

To be a husband as described in the bible means investing a lot of time and effort.  Most of us have to change the way we think, act and speak.  Move from being feelings oriented to obedience oriented.  

Remembering Prov 13:15 - "The way of the unfaithful is hard".  We either work hard now or have the "easy" way now and be assured of a hard road under God's discipline in the future.

5. Ignorance

Mk 12:24 - Is this not the reason you are mistake, that you do not understand the scripture, or the power of God?

1 Pet 3:7 is not a recommendation, it's a command.  "Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman...so that your prayers may not be hindered."  We must learn how to understand our wife.

When we read a biblical command that seems impossible, we should remember that God never asks a Christian to obey Him without providing the resources.

He promises to give us wisdom (James 1:5), ability (Phil 2:13) and desire (Phil 2:13).
